The objective of this professorship is to expand knowledge in media businesses and sport-related organizations with regard to the use of media and (live) events to intensify and enrich the public’s sport experience. In this process, Media-Enriched Sport Experiences will be developed, focusing on the relationship and cross-pollination between digital and live forms of sport and leisure experiences. In doing so we aim to increase the knowledge how to create and share new media enriched sport experiences, by means of introducing innovative concepts and prototypes based on the unique combination of media entertainment skills and leisure experience knowledge. The first concepts arose from the ZIGGO Industry case in which students of the master of media innovation program created sport experience concepts connected to linear television viewing audiences.
